I just hope that those people who voted for Obama give the man some time. If they are expecting him to be a miracle worker than they are going to be awfully sorry.
Obama will find out (like all President's do) that the job is much more difficult than it seems. Those fancy words and campaign promises sometimes become quickly forgotten.
I think Obama is a smart man and he seems to be politically astute as well. The key is making sure he has qualified people around him. We will see.
I attended a inaugural party last night, full of baby boomers, and I got the impression that many are aware that it will take much time and effort to pump-up the job sector and the economy. An engineer had commented, that in his line of work of outsourcing work to Asia, he would like to see the idle facilities in Chgoland be utilized again.
As Obama stated yesterday: "Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and begin again the work of remaking America."
Alas, Ernest T, he didn't mention your beloved eggs.
your right, he should have just given the order to "surround everyone!" and as for the "dunderheads that are hoping he rescues them from their stupid financial decisions" didn't they already get thier bailout money? didn't they expose themselves as free market frauds? they can't go to parties anymore, can they?
That "bailout money" was a scam. Plain and simple. The American people bent over and got it good once again.
Obama's mission is to create a bigger government. This means less freedom for the American people. We voted him in knowing this, so we had better accept it.
Mar, it's people like Morganfield and Limbaugh that makes this a great country. They are allowed their wacked out opinions without the threat of being put away as in other countries
Wrong again. I am no fan of Rush Limbaugh. He is a blowhard. You libs seem to believe that anyone who doesn't worship at the altar of Obama is a lover of Limbaugh.
The fact that I think government is too big doesn't make me a wack job. Maybe in your sad little worlds, but not in the real world.
* Food stamp overpayments that cost $600 million annually.
* School lunch program abuse costs $120 million annually.
* Earned Income Tax Credit overpayments cost $9 billion annually.
* Spending of tens of billions of dollars on failed and outdated programs such as the Rural Utilities Service, U.S. Geological Survey and Economic Development Association.
* Medicare overspending. Example: paying as much as eight times the cost that other federal agencies pay for the same drugs and medical supplies.
* Credit card abuse at Dept of Defense.
* Massive farm subsidies.
* Better tracking of student loan recipients would save $1 billion annually.
Funny that Morgan left out the biggest government waste of all, the Iraqi black hole - courtesy of the dubya admin and Halliburton, the epitome of abuse and overpayment.
Our infrastructure is rotting away, yet the Gopers don't complain about wasteful dumping of US $ into Iraqi infrastructure.
Yet Morgan complains of school lunch programs, student loan recipients and food stamp..oh the travesty! Morgan and Druggie Limbaugh = anti-Americans.
You guys are wrong once again. I am not a Republican. I was a Democrat at one time. I even voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. Now I am a registered Independent.

Much better than the Blago stuff
At least more positive.....
We still have a long way to go. I got the "even though we have Obama in the White House we still can't get along" comment from someone yesterday.
I could comment further but I would probably would be banned. :)
Steve B
As long as you agree we can all move forward together to fix this country your comments will not be banned.

Remember, Obama himself has said this will take time.
True, Scott. I just hope the American people take the same approach.
I like eggs.

Oops...should be "an inaugural party".
Mar I'm jealous
I see where the Prez decided to side with the terrorists at Gitmo. One day on the job and it is already starting.
Baby boomers at an Obama party? Big surprise. These are the same dunderheads that are hoping he rescues them from their stupid financial decisions.

i don't beleive that is his mission. i think that he wants to increase the effectiveness of government. not the same thing.
You believe what you wish and I will believe what I wish. Since the "Great Society" government has gotten bigger and more ubiquitous in our lives.
This trend will only get worst under Obama and his friends in Congress. You can bank on that.
"You can bank on that."
Which bank? I thought they all failed.
Morganfield and Druggie Limbaugh have something in common...an obsession with bending over and getting it good. What is with you two?

Have a nice day.
"our world", is no longer sad and little. "the decider" has left the building.
where is the government too big? you have to be more specific. the military? sure, we spend more on our military than all other countries combined.
If you cannot see how big and wasteful the government is for yourself than you have some serious issues.
give an example of where, you believe, government is both big and watseful.
Yes Morgan please show us how govt is too big. I will say it can be more efficient in how it operates
Morgan is doing his best parrott act..repeating what he hears from his masters without ties to logical thought or reality. Enjoy the show, folks.
Morgan must be getting approved GOP shinola to spew.
As the world waits...
Governmental waste? Gee where do I start?

Need I go on?
so how do eliminate abuse and overpayment? do you eliminate these programs? food stamps? school lunch programs? medicare? school loans?

well said mar.
You're okay in my book, Bill. Thanks.
Mar gets the golden trophy for finally getting the GOPers to shut up
We can only hope, Mark. From an old Yiddish expression, "from your mouth to God's ear".
You guys are wrong once again. I am not a Republican. I was a Democrat at one time. I even voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. Now I am a registered Independent.
You know what they say about people that assume?
Ok, lame-o, like telling us your party affiliation and voting record from years ago is going to make a difference! You lie like a rug.
Mar,
Why don't you take your smug attitude and shove it. Your socialist prince won. Let's see what kind of song you are seeing in about a year.
Relax Morgan Fairchild. Play nice don't make me get all grown up and in your face.
Mar, I know you can handle your own bad self.
Morgan, don't make me angry...you wouldn't like me when I'm angry...'cause I'd go all Hulk on your puny a$$.
Oh, and another thing Morgan...you still lie like a rug. haaa!
Mar,
Don't quit your day job. That is if you even have a job.
CFandI, sitting home in your p.j's in the basement? Rough times, eh?
Mar,
Times are never rough when I can dream in my PJ's about you.
